Product Overview
The TPL8002-25 is a dual-channel programmable logarithmic digital potentiometer, equipped with 64 tap positions for each resistor channel and controlled by a 6-bit parallel digital interface. Fixed resistance is integrated on each tap contact; the tap position can be switched to any point of the resistor network according to input binary codes.
Standard Differential Inverting Op-Amp Application Circuit
Tap pin RSW connects to the op-amp’s inverting input, non-inverting input grounded
Pin RG serves as the differential signal input terminal
Pin RF connects to the differential output of the external op-amp
The logarithmic resistance between RSW, RG and RF generates linear dB-level gain variation:
Decimal code 0 (000000): Maximum attenuation -24dB
Decimal code 32 (100000): Unity gain 0.00dB
Decimal code 63 (111111): Maximum gain +23.25dB
The gain changes in consistent 0.75dB increments corresponding to digital input codes.
