The TPS543x is a high output current PWM converter that integrates a low resistance high-side N-channel MOSFET. The device also includes on the substrate a high performance voltage error amplifier that provides tight voltage regulation accuracy under transient conditions; an undervoltage lockout circuit to prevent startup before the input voltage reaches 5.5V; an internally set soft start circuit to limit inrush current; and a voltage feedforward circuit to improve transient response. Through the ENA pin, the power current when shut down can typically be reduced to 18μA. Other features include high level enable, overcurrent limit, overvoltage protection and thermal shutdown. To reduce design complexity and the number of external components, the feedback loop of the TPS543x is internally compensated. The TPS5431 is suitable for power rails up to 23V. The TPS5430 can regulate multiple power supplies, including 24V buses. The TPS543x device uses a thermally enhanced and easy to use 8-pin SOIC PowerPAD package. TI provides evaluation modules and Designer software tools to help quickly implement high performance power designs, meeting tight device development cycles.
