Product Description
The GD32F5 series of high-performance MCUs adopts the Arm® Cortex®-M33 core, supporting a maximum
operating frequency of 280MHz. Equipped with an advanced DSP hardware accelerator and a single-precision floating-point unit (FPU), it significantly reduces the core's workload and enhances processing efficiency. The GD32F5 series offers up to 7.5MB of on-chip Flash and 1MB of SRAM, including a 2MB configurable zero-wait execution zone (Code-Flash) to improve code processing efficiency and real-time performance. It also provides larger Data-Flash space for backup and parameter storage. ECC (Error Correcting Code) verification is supported across the entire SRAM/Flash to ensure stable and reliable storage, effectively addressing complex industrial application environments. The GD32F5 series supports up to 2MB of RWW (Read-While-Write) OTA program upgrades, enabling code updates without interrupting operations, balancing real-time performance and stability. The GD32F5 series integrates multiple security features to safeguard device information security. These MCUs offer multi-level code and data protection zones, as well as an EFUSE area, supporting mechanisms such as secure OTA, secure boot, secure debugging, and secure download. To help users get started quickly, GD32 has introduced the Security Boot and Update software platform, providing secure boot, secure updates, secure communication, and software solutions that users can customize for secondary development based on their needs. The GD32F5 series of high-performance MCUs integrates a rich set of general-purpose peripherals, including 8 U(S)ARTs, 6 I2Cs, 6 SPIs, 2 I2Ss, and 1 SDIO. It features a USB2.0 OTG interface supporting Full Speed and High Speed modes. Additionally, it includes 2 CAN-FD controllers and 1 Ethernet interface to meet industrial control interconnection and network communication requirements. The GD32F5 series operates at a supply voltage of 1.71V–3.6V and is equipped with 2 32-bit general-purpose timers, 8 16-bit general-purpose timers, 2 16-bit basic timers, and 2 PWM advanced timers. It also supports high-precision analog peripherals such as 3 12-bit ADCs and 2 DACs. The series is fully adaptable to applications including energy and power, photovoltaic storage, industrial automation, PLC, network communication equipment, and graphical displays.
