1. Chip Introduction The GD32F450xx devices belong to the high-performance line of the GD32 MCU family. They are new 32-bit general-purpose microcontrollers based on the ARM Cortex-M4 RISC core, offering the best cost-performance ratio in terms of enhanced processing capability, reduced power consumption, and peripherals. The Cortex-M4 core features a Floating-Point Unit (FPU) that accelerates single-precision floating-point arithmetic operations and supports all ARM single-precision instructions and data types. It implements a full set of DSP instructions to meet the demands of the digital signal control market for efficient and easy-to-use control and signal processing capabilities. Additionally, it includes a Memory Protection Unit (MPU) and robust trace technology to enhance application security and provide advanced debugging support. The GD32F450xx devices integrate an ARM Cortex-M4 32-bit processor core operating at up to 200 MHz with zero-wait-state flash access for maximum efficiency. They offer up to 3072 KB of on-chip flash memory and 512 KB of SRAM. Enhanced I/Os and peripherals are connected to two APB buses. These devices provide up to three 12-bit 2.6 MSPS ADCs, a 12-bit DAC, up to eight general-purpose 16-bit timers, two 16-bit PWM advanced-control timers, two 32-bit general-purpose timers, and two 16-bit timers, as well as standard and advanced communication interfaces: up to six SPIs, three I2Cs, four USARTs, four UARTs, two I2Ss, two CANs, one I/O, USB device/host/OTG FS and HS, and an Ethernet MAC. Additional peripherals include a Digital Camera Interface (DCI), an MC interface supporting SDRAM expansion, a TFT-LCD Interface (TLI), and an Image Processing Accelerator (IPA). The devices operate at a voltage range of 2.6 V to 3.6 V and a temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C. Three power-saving modes maximize flexibility in power consumption optimization, which is particularly important for low-power applications. The features described above make the GD32F450xx devices suitable for a wide range of connected and advanced applications, especially in industrial, consumer, and handheld devices, embedded modules, human-machine interfaces, security and alarm systems, graphical displays, automotive navigation, drones, IoT, and more.
