Product Overview The Genesys Logic GL3523 is a 4-port, low-power, and configurable hub controller. It complies with the USB 3.1 specification. The GL3523 integrates Genesys Logic’s self-developed USB 3.1 Gen 1 SuperSpeed transceiver physical layer (PHY) and USB 2.0 High-Speed PHY. It supports SuperSpeed, High-Speed, and Full-Speed USB connections and is fully backward-compatible with all USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 hosts. The GL3523 also implements a multiple transaction translator (MTT) architecture, providing a dedicated transaction translator for each downstream port, ensuring Full-Speed data transfer bandwidth during heavy-load operations with multiple Full-Speed devices. Additionally, the GL3523 integrates built-in 5V-to-3.3V and 5V-to-1.2V regulators, reducing customers’ BOM costs and simplifying PCB design. The GL3523 features native fast charging and complies with the USB-IF Battery Charging Specification Revision 1.2, enabling fast charging for Apple, Samsung Galaxy devices, and any BC1.2/1.1-compliant devices. It also allows portable devices to draw up to 1.5A from the GL3523’s Charging Downstream Port (CDP) or Dedicated Charging Port (DCP). Even in "Sleep" and "Power-Off" modes, it enables systems to rapidly charge handheld devices. Through different part numbers, the GL3523 also integrates USB Type-C functionality (model: GL3523-S).
